Northend United 1 Coleraine Olympic 1           Saturday 26th November 2016

Northend dominated this match from the start with a very good team display. Robert Crooks as dominant in defence and Lewis McDonald was proving to be a thorn in the Coleraine defence. This young team have been playing a high pressing game and their movement off the ball and quick passing on the ball leading to a very good result fr them.
Scorers on the day for Northend were Lewis McDonald with a hat-trick and single goals from Robert Crooks and Calvin Termonia.

Northend Youth 1 Limavady Colts 1               Saturday 26th November 2016

U10 Youths had a great morning at the University, as part of the rebrand of the Harry Gregg Foundation all teams had a 3-way fixture.  The Blues started off against a very good Limavady Colts side, with only three mins gone Seth Park scored a spectacular goal after a corner was only partly cleared.   But as Limavady settled they proved a handful and in a three-minute spell they scored two goals to put us on the back foot.  The game turned with the introduction of Luke Campbell in the centre of the park. His tenacity gave Northend the edge and Feargal McKay and Seth Park
started to have more of an impact.  Some good work involving Campbell, McKay and Park setup Jack Stewart who finished beautifully with a neat flick over the oncoming keeper.  Northend pushed hard for the winner and created a number of goalscoring chances. With time running out, a good through ball from Feargal McKay sent Luke Campbell clear to score the winner.  Some frantic defending from Garron Donnelly and Joe McKay in the last couple of minutes ensured a fine win.

Northend Youth 1 Dungiven Colts 1                     Saturday 26th November 2016
With a 20 minute break the boys had a chance to recharge and also appreciate just how tough a game they had just played.  The second game against Dungiven Colts saw the Baby Blues play their best football of the season. They passed the ball well, covering each other superbly and worked hard to dominate from start to finish.  Paddy Murphy pulled off two great saves and his distribution was excellent.  Joe McKay and Garron Donnelly were again solid in defence but also pushed forward to support the attack with Joe McKay scoring a fine long range effort.  Seth Park, Feargal McKay and Luke Campbell were full of running and Jack Stewart and Jackson Greer caused countless problems up front.  A quick corner from Feargal McKay setup ace marksman Luke Campbell to score a fantastic effort from wide on the left wing.  A very happy bunch left with 2 fine wins.

Northend United 1 Ballymoney Academy 1       Saturday 12th November 2016

This was a good performance from the Northend boys against a hard working Ballymoney Academy side. Northend took the lead on the 5th minute through a Daire Higgins goal. This was a really solid performance from Northend, passing the ball out from the back to the front with some inch perfect passes from the midfield to the forward line.
Unfortunately, Northend couldn't hold onto their lead and Ballymoney equalised with minutes of the match remaining.

Northend Youth 1 Coleraine Alexandra 1         Saturday 12th November 2016

The boys started brightly and created some excellent chances early on.  With Seth, Jackson and Feargal controlling the game in the middle of the park we continued to dominate.  Our reward came when good work from Jack setup Jackson to score low in the corner.  With Garron and Joseph rarely troubled they pushed forward at every opportunity.   As our confidence grew we continued to dominate but despite this with half-time approaching we still only held the 1 goal advantage.  In Coleraine's only attack of the half their striker found himself through one on one but Paddy stood tall and turned his effort away with his left foot.

The second half continued as the first ended lots of possession and after a period of pressure the Coleraine defence failed to clear and Seth curled a beautiful right foot shot into the top corner to put is 2 up.  This goal saw Coleraine have a 10 min spell where they forced us back and we conceded 2 goals in as many minutes.    The boys lifted the heads and got going again. A surging run down the right from Feargal ended up in a shot from Jackson being cleared off the line. Feargal had delivered quality set piece ball all morning so when he landed another in the danger zone Luke headed home at the back post.  With our noses in front we were not to have our fine performance spoiled, again a good move involving Jackson and Feargal setup Luke who was upended on route to goal.  Feargal stepped up and struck the resulting free through a crowded area. The boys stood strong in the last five minutes and closed out a fine victory.

This was our best performance of the season and the result we have been looking good for. Paddy was superb in goals and was well protected by Garron and Joseph.  The midfield of Seth, Jackson and Feargal dominated the game pressurising the play and driving forward with great effect.  Jack and Luke both aged their part up front holding up the ball well and getting into goalscoring positions.
